256 Recordings’ first release comes courtesy of newcomer World Above. The eponymous EP opens with “Someone New”, an emotive house joint with vocal chops that touch the soul and chords that reach for the stars. We then move into breakdance territory, with the highly percussive subwoofer stomping “Strong Ties”, a clutch tool for those lower tempo moments. Texture takes over the second half of the release with the dark and distant hardware stepper, “In Time”. The release closes with “Pure Bond”, a palette cleansing ambient kiss off. World Above will be available digitally and on all streaming services January 23rd, 2020.
